Contrary to popular belief, barre is not ballet. The bloombarre class structure is inspired by Lotte Berk under the Lotte Berk Method-- the original founder and originator of barre. Developed in the 1950's, this method combines movements of both Yoga and Pilates for an all-encompassing low-impact exercise. The focus remains on flexibility, and small but controlled micro-movements, static holds, repetitious flows, and body resistance. Under the influence of The Lotte Berk Method (the only authentic form of barre), bloombarre movements incorporate body weight, 2-5lb weights, and other prop assists for a class that strengthens and improves overall physical health and wellness.
While the benefits of barre are vast: builds muscle strength, improves posture, tones the body, etc. there are some lesser-known benefits that may assist in:
>Building bone density (with regular class attendance)
>Increasing cardiovascular endurance
>Improving metabolism/digestion
>Reducing lactic acid build-up (we could all use a little of this!)
>Increasing flexibility
This upbeat, full-body exercise will have you feeling a stronger and a more confident you! Come bloom with us and find out.
